Whoa-ho-ho

Heyooooooh.

I guess my original address choice for this blog doesn't really reflect that I won't always be working in the tundra of the Canadian North?

As it turns out, this summer I have the fortune of working in the southeastern Gobi Desert. That's right, Mongolia. Mong-fucking-olia. Was hired by a company to do some geologic mapping, core teching/logging, and general sampling. I'm very excited about it, as I have the opportunity to work closely with a professor from Carleton University and an ex-BC Ministry of Mines mapper. This is an amazing opportunity for me, and, well, it's my first warm summer in 2 years. Instead of a chance of snow in the middle of July, it'll be upwards of 30˚ (celsius).

Semester is almost over, correspondence calculus is going well, presentations and exams are going ...ok. Those will be finished up soon, and then it's South to Coachella!1! for a few days with my friend Corinne. That's right, to see Rage Against the Machine when they play for the first time in 7 years. And I also get to see allyson. I'm very excited about both.

perhaps I will get more posts on here, nothing interesting has been happening, but I feel inclined to make posts.

Closer and closer to being a real geologist...eventually I'll get there.
